Around 90% of Germans donate old clothes to collections on occasionand approximately 1.6 million tonnes are collected each year in this way. Items of clothing that are still wearableare reused as secondhand items, for example. Old textiles that can no longer be used ondue to their quality, are shredded in recycling units into versatile secondary raw materials (torn fibre mixtures). Inter alia, the recycled products are used in the automobile industry. In this industry, we supply knives for tearing units and chopping machines; these allow long working lives and are proven by their low wear rate.
